Seniors Week in Gosford City

Gosford City Council is encouraging local seniors to get involved in the many activities happening during Seniors Week 2012.

Seniors Week runs from Sunday 18 – Friday 24 March 2012 with social, cultural, physical, environmental and educational activities happening across Gosford City.

Gosford City Council’s Coordinator of 50+ Leisure and Learning Centres, Ms. Rhondda Gibson said that a range of activities for seniors will be held throughout the week.

“Seniors Week is a chance to celebrate and thank seniors for their contribution to our community.

“There are heaps of great activities on including a Green Living bus tour, beach safety talks, a number of library activities, aqua exercise classes as well as sport and recreation activities.

“It is an opportunity for older people to get together, be healthy and active as well as see the great programs offered at our 50+ Leisure and Learning Centres year round,” said Ms Gibson.

A Seniors Week Photography Competition was also run through Gosford City Libraries with winners announced on Thursday 15 March with entries on display at Kincumber Library during Seniors Week

2012 activities include: CPR and Senior First Aid Courses, Seniors Gala Day, Central Coast Family History Workshop, Computer Open Day, Central Coast Cricket Match and much more!
