Gosford Business Improvement District InitiativeA group of Gosford City Centre business operators and property owners, in collaboration with Gosford City Council, is setting up a Business Improvement District (BID) based on successful models in North America, Europe and New Zealand. The purpose of the Gosford BID is to improve conditions for business, attract more people to the City Centre, and improve the quality of life for those who work, shop and live in the City Centre. This BID enables business and property owners to decide which services - over and above those already provided by Council - are needed to meet Gosford's needs and to devise ways to deliver them. This is a key part of a range of initiatives by Gosford Council to revitalise the City Centre, in recognition that there is no one single action that will achieve this. It will be funded by the CBD Special Improvement levy that has been in place for many years and originally helped build the Baker Street Car Park, and upgrade both the Mann Street and Kibble Park. |
