Graffiti Action Day 2nd May

Gosford BID participated in the first Graffiti Action Day a government led initiative run by the successful Keep Australia Beautiful organisation.

On Sunday 2nd May at 10am the Gosford Mayor Chris Holstein together with a group of business owners, residents, and members of the Central Coast community got down to tackling societies ever increasing problem of removing  graffiti that defaces community property.

Teams were formed and were dispatched to graffiti “hot spots” around the City Centre.

Armed with high powered graffiti remover the tags and graffiti was removed, if this method didn’t work the teams painted over the unsightly graffiti tags.

Four hours later those who participated in the States first Graffiti Action Day in Gosford gained a sense of achievement in ridding their community of graffiti.

Now the priority is keeping the graffiti off the buildings, ensuring that each property owner, tenant and resident removes the graffiti off their property within 24 hours. Checks their property daily for graffiti and removes it instantly. The only way graffiti will be eradicated for good is to follow these practices on a daily basis and not leave it up to a group of people to remove it once a year.

Graffiti Removal Kits are available for purchase: email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
