Vacant Shops Project

This is an exciting project which commenced in early April when a partnership was formed between GBID, Breakthru People Solutions and ACS Cleaning & Security.  Two employees were inducted into the GBID team  to initially clean up the vacant shops in Gosford’s CBD.  This project was so successful that we are now undertaking additional projects including painting out graffiti, refurbishing gardens and assisting with the refurbishment of shops for the Create Innovate Project amongst other smaller projects.

Welcome to Gosford Sign

We intend to paint over the Welcome to Gosford sign on the Donnison Street railway bridge and then place new, vibrant lettering and sign writing on this wall.   We are currently submitting a risk assessment with Railcorp and we have applied for a grant through the Gosford city Council’s Cultural and Community Grants.  These will be announced in September.

Gosford City Brochure

The need was identified for a brochure which would promote the best assets of Gosford and general information on the events in Gosford.   This  new, vibrant and colourful brochure was produced just in time for us to launch it at the Gosford Regional Show and Buy Local Festival at the end of April 2011.   Please feel free to download a copy from our home page or you can send us a request form for one online.  This brochure is ideal to give to visiting family and friends.

Buy Local Festival & Gosford Regional Show

These two key events helped promote GBID as a not for profit organisation and our key objective to improve Gosford City.  The Buy Local Festival was on 29^th & 30^th April 2011 in Terrigal which was GBID’s first trade show.  Almost 8000 people attended over the two days.

The Gosford Regional Show was held on 30^th April and 1^st May.   This was also a valuable opportunity to promote the all new Gosford City Markets.

Mural Relocation

The murals on the corner of Mann & Donnison Streets are to be relocated to another location.  They are being removed from their original location to make way for new shops as part of the Create Innovate Gosford City project.

Strategic Plan

GBID is developing a 3 year Strategic Plan which will be implemented when approved by the GBID Committee.  The Strategic Plan will be the instrument that we will keep referring to and reviewing over the life of the plan.

Create Innovate Gosford City

The Create Innovate Gosford City project has been launched and exciting new shops are opening on the corner of Mann & Donnison Streets.   This key object of Create Innovate Gosford City is to fill otherwise vacant shops with exciting new arts projects to create an innovating arts culture.
